This is so far ahead of the Swedish “pizza industry” that I get sad over the state of this country. Just read the following:
Pizza Tracker will allow customers to know when their order is being prepared, when it’s out of the oven, and when it’s out the door and on its way. It even includes the first name of the person delivering the order…Pizza Tracker is linked directly to the computers inside...

New website, new ego
Honest thought of the day:
Most companies are badly managed with poor ambitions and no desire to produce quality or create a greater value beyond their next sale.
That is why Umair is so dead on when he’s constantly looking for companies that can create true value on markets. Not shifting value from one market to another but instead trying to create something better.
In all it’s flaws I think...

Not any news, but wired has a nice and explanatory graphic of what just happened with this blog post when I clicked on the “publish” button.
The image isn’t really motivating me to blog, just one of those explanation of something you just want to feel. As for example the feeling of wanting to write about something. Unfortunately that feeling hasn’t been there very often yet in 2008.

Strange weekend, but nice. I’m feeling somewhat cautious that the strange weekend will turn into a strange week.
Macworld - MacBook Air took all the headlines but as you all know it’s all about the AppleTV and movie rentals. AppleTV is beginning to look like a true disruptor, especially since they’re beginning to promote podcasts as well. Thousands of independent video publishers just got a new distribution channel, with potentially making the same impact on video and TV as YouTube did for web and video.

Sun’s CEO Jonathan Schwartz writes an interesting blog post about the acquisition of MySQL this week (read this reflection for a pessimistic, but perhaps valid, view on the deal). The deal itself is the final evidence that Open Source is a valid business model, but the blog post is interesting since it’s, to my knowledge, the first time a billion dollar acquisition is provided with such a detailed...

Sounds like some reasonable news and doesn’t seem to far of what could be accurate. And I kid you not, Steve will hurt someone if this is true :)
Last week Steve Rubel brought up the issue of the Lazysphere, which refferre’s to that a lot of bloggers just watch Techmeme and the press releases to find things to blog about.
Blogs have previously been the underground of news, where you would find the discussion that traditional media normally didn’t dare to carry.
Professional blogs really changed that eh? Since these blogs have to produce...
I’ve been playing around with Hulu, the video site that is the result of a joint venture between NBC and News Corp, for a month now or so and thought it was time to give some thoughts on it.
I like it. I like it very much.
Compared to Joost, which is a terrible user experience where you have trouble finding the (very limited) content that’s there, it’s a revolution.

Facebook has moved to Nippori because, from a broader perspective, Nippori is boring. But it’s still an important station (Nippori is a hub for Narita, Tokyo’s international airport).
As always this time of year, it’s time for a new Trenmap from Information Architects. They provide an interesting preview and their behind the scenes thoughts.

– Never really sounded like a good idea
iA provides me with some good arguments why I shouldn’t sell my Google shares.
The four central aspects of a religion are 1) the power to shape one’s daily rituals, 2) the influence to become a reference for truth, 3) the ability to mirror human nature, and 4) the aspiration for absolutism.
1) Google has become a part of most Internet users’ daily online ritual. They are occupying increasing...

Uncomfortable
Last night I started a post about the data of social networks and their value. Fortunately I didn’t post it, fortunately because this piece of news changed everything.
Scott Karp wrote an interesting post on data a couple of days ago.
Before social networking applications, this data included the story of our personal relationships — sites like Friendster, MySpace, and Facebook provided a way to...
